5.11. Poplar

3.4.0

New features

  • Fully support the second PCIe interface for C600 cards in servers that have PCIe bifurcation enabled and have firmware with version 2.7.1 or later installed. The second PCIe interface increases the available host-device I/O bandwidth.

Bug Fixes

  • Fix the casting functions to the quarter (FP8) type for the Mk2 IPU architecture (which emulates FP8 support in software) to match the hardware implementation in the Mk2 IPU with FP8 support architecture (as used by the IPU in C600 cards). The NaN on overflow (nanoo) bit and infinities are now handled correctly.

  • Fix NUMA node look-up when using multiple devices in a single process.

Other improvements

  • Better support for merging on-tile copies by more robustly discarding unnecessary interleaved WriteUndef programs, which could otherwise inhibit the merging.
